MI EXPERIENCIA DE COMIDA EN CASA MEXICANA
I went to Ceddi Plaza to see a movie with a
friend (yes I know I’m always with a friend – lol), as we were walking out of
the cinema hall, walking down the stairs, we saw a banner with ‘Casa
Mexicana’ written on it, as a foodie I was already excited to see what
the place was like, and then get to try out the place.
I had to ginger my friend to tag along
so we could check out the restaurant, so after much convincing, we decided to check out the Mexican restaurant the following week. On getting
there, we discovered that the place is pretty big, it has an interior and
exterior sit out area with a wonderful play area for kids (lovely for those of
you that are married with kids or planning to have some soon). We sat outside
because it was way cooler than the interior.
The reception was overwhelming; they were playing their Mexican Mariachi songs; you know to settle us into the Mexican
vibe. The décor was equally nice, they had paintings of some famous Mariachi
artists and some corners of the exterior area had the famous Mexican hat. They served us with cucumber and carrot sticks
and a bowl of groundnut on the house before we placed our order, the waiter was
also very polite.
We ordered Guacamole with Crispy Tortilla chips
as our starter. Afterwards, we ordered the famous tacos (yes the very same one
you see or hear of in movies – I just had to be adventurous with this though). Clearly,
we were so intrigued we wanted to order everything. For the main course, we
ordered the Mexican rice with one portion of chicken stir fry, which I must say
is A LOT.
One thing that stood out to me and my friend
was that our orders didn’t take time to be prepared. Also, we ordered a jug of
Horchata which we barely drank because honestly I didn’t understand the taste. To
simplify, the taste was kinda weird (that’s the only way I can explain it).
Speaking of the taste of the meals we ordered,
I have to say that, it’s only the tacos that was close to being tasty, I don’t
know if it’s a Mexican thing for their meals not to be tasty but it was really a fun experience and my
advice is go with those “Maggi mix” they sell around (just kidding) because the
pros of this place outweighs the cons.
The place is affordable and the ambience is
perfect and nice to take good pictures (for all you picture lovers like me). So I
will rate them as follows:
Ambience: 8/10
Service: 9/10
Price: 9/10
Food: 6.5/10 (blame it on my Nigerian tongue, LOL)

VIVA LA
