Eat, Drink and be Merry!
HAPPY NEW MONTH GUYS!!!Before I start, I want you guys to know I appreciate your support and comments so far, and I have taken all your positive comments into consideration, that’s why I took a lot of dope pictures on this my restaurant waka.
Praise God!!!, my friend just got promoted at
work and decided to treat me and another friend of ours to lunch (yay free food
and I get to tell you guys about my wonderful experience) at Nkoyo restaurant
located on the first floor of Ceddi Plaza, Central Area Abuja. When I arrived,
I was blown away by the ambience, and the waiters were welcoming. The décor
used was African, with the straw chairs, the paintings, and the supposed forest
trees they have there. They have an outdoor and indoor sit out area, luckily for
me my friends were already seated at the outdoor area (I love to take pictures
when I’m out and outdoor areas tend to favour that).
The restaurant had quite a lot of people
present and more people kept coming (guess mostly because it was lunch break
period, all you working class people – I will join una soon ohh). As I walked
to the table where my friends were already seated (lol I’m not a late comer oh,
na traffic cause am), I noticed how the waiter collected one of the customer’s
suit jacket and hung it on a wooden hanger just beside him and I thought to
myself “that’s nice”. I also noticed that there were art paintings for sale at various
points of the outdoor area, the one that caught my eyes had N220,000 on it (lol
clearly I’m not their target market).
The waiter handed us the menu and we placed our
orders. I ordered peppered fish sauce with steamed white rice while my friends
ordered spicy grilled chicken plus coconut rice with Nkoyo punch, and spicy grilled
chicken with yam fingers. The prices of the meals on the menu were quite
affordable. Just when I was telling my friends that they are supposed to give
us a bowl of potato chips on the house after taking our orders the waiter arrived
a few minutes later with it, lol I was beginning to think this APC administration
is affecting them.
Our meal didn’t take long to arrive; it took
about 15 minutes. I really enjoyed my meal, the fish was so soft and it had
just the right amount of spice because I requested I didn’t want it to be too
spicy. The portion was enough, I felt really full when I was done, the Nkoyo punch had a nice taste and feel to it, from what I tasted, it was made up of pineapple and water melon (a very good combo, I must say). My friends
seemed to enjoy their meals as well. We discovered afterwards that they also
serve Indian cuisines alongside the Nigerian cuisines. I observed that their
coconut rice doesn’t look like the typical coconut rice we all know and love;
this one was looking like jollof rice (even my friend had to ask the waiter if
it was jollof rice he requested for). Also, I think their yam fingers were a
bit big but that’s my own personal opinion, not like my friend ordered for
fries though. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time with my friends and I
have to rate them as follows:
Ambience: 9/10
Service: 8/10
Price: 7/10
Food: 8/10
