Life is Short, Enjoy the Cocktail

I was running some errands when a friend called me saying he wanted us to go and see a movie, seeing as I was busy, I suggested we go to Beer Barn (located at 72, Aminu Kano Crescent Wuse II, its between Kryxtall lounge and Zermatt Wine shop) for drinks and finger food later in the evening, not every time proper food. It’s been long I had alcohol, so this just seemed like a perfect opportunity to unwind. As I walked towards the building, I noticed they have a top bar area where you can have a good view of your surroundings.

When I entered into the building, I walked up the stairs and noticed they have nice pictures of some famous people (some of them I don’t know) on one side of the wall. It’s a good spot to take pictures. As I walked towards my favourite spot, I noticed one of the guys playing snooker was my hairdresser I just smiled and walked past (lol he cannot come and kill himself with only saloon work). I arrived before my friend (lol you people should clap for me o, I was punctual today), the downside was I had to wait for like 20 minutes before he arrived because of traffic.

Before my friend arrived, I ordered vegetable spring roll and pina colada cocktail. The service was pretty quick considering the crowd. Lol guys please forgive me, I was enjoying my pina colada cocktail and spring roll so much that I forgot to take a picture of it, it was when my friend arrived and he ordered the legendary long island cocktail with chicken sandwich that I remembered to take a picture. The music that was being played was nice but it was too loud for a small space, I mean no be say we dey club. That’s how they decided to switch from the cool songs that were playing to this annoying screeching live band song (kai the thing just they scratch my ear). After awhile they started playing “Girls like you” by Maroon5 ft. Cardi B live band version and I found myself singing along and shaking my body (lol my friend was just laughing and saying he knows I will like this one) they eventually spoilt the whole vibe with their over sabi.

The Pina colada cocktail was creamy and sweet; lol you can just be drinking several glasses forgetting alcohol dey inside; na so the thing sweet. The vegetable spring roll was nice but quite oily, I’m not a fan of things that are oily. The chips that came with the sandwich was crispy and the sandwich was yummy (lol my friend said I was being such a girl by eating out of his food). When the bill arrived I noticed they only charged us for what we ordered no VAT or service charge but my friend said maybe they included that into our order, well who knows.

For those of you that have been asking me to include the prices of what I ordered, here we go but remember its subject to change:

Pina colada cocktail    - N2800
Vegetable Spring roll  - N1500 (4 pieces)
Long island cocktail   - N3,000
Chicken Sandwich     - N2800 (4 pieces)

In conclusion I had a great time other than the way too loud music on a cold Wednesday evening plus this is a perfect spot for chilling.

Ambience   - 9/10
Service        - 10/10
