Finger Lickin’ Good

I was at home catching up on my favourite telemundo shows (lol, don’t judge) when a friend called. He wanted us to have lunch at Vanilla Restaurant and Lounge located at No. 11, Usuma Close, Maitama, Abuja. Vanilla Restaurant is one of my all time faves; I remember back in the day, I would suggest Vanilla whenever my friends wanted to hangout (that’s how much I like the place). So I got dressed, he picked me up and we headed to Vanilla.

The ambience was still as nice as I remember, few changes here and there but everything was still dope. As a nice person, I took pictures of the menu so you guys can have an idea of the prices but bear in mind that prices are subject to change (I don’t want to hear I misled you people).The waitress was welcoming and polite, there were only a few customers around when we arrived but few more showed up afterwards. I ordered peppered gizzard with plantain as a side while my friend ordered pastry filled with spring vegetables and prawns and mayo. We also placed an ordered for extra barbecue wings  and water.

The mirrors in the female bathroom have knocked up a reputation but on all my visits before, I’d forget to check them out because I was carried away with gist but today was the day.

The mirror ish makes mad sense, I was so impressed; best solution for when you decide to have lunch alone and you want your instagram followers to feel your peng outfit. I didn’t slay today so please manage what you see. So guys, if your female date tells you she is going to the bathroom and she is taking a lot of time, my brother, na picture she dey snap there. 

Our meal arrived in about twenty minutes, drinks arrived way before because na water, no need for delay. I have to commend our choices, the vegetables were great, even better because psychologically it feels like it helped balance the diet. The wings were well spiced and all round well prepared. Vanilla has generous space, the perfect location for birthday parties, dinners and everything in between. There was soft music playing in the background, none of that loud music stuff. 

Overall I’d say the service is good, I had a great time and would certainly visit again. Hopefully it’d remain on my list of faves forever.
