Food & Friends...Life is Good

I was scrolling through my TL on twitter as usual when I came across a tweet about “Caesars Bigman rice bowl” a big food bowl that 2 people could share. It looked really inviting and that prompted me to beep a friend of mine to ask if she would like to check out the place with me. She was as excited as I was and was even more excited when I told her the cost was N3, 000 (Nigerians and awoof!!!). That Saturday evening, she picked me up from the salon so we could get there at the same time (that way no one was kept waiting at the destination; life hack, lol) and we set out to Caesar’s Restaurant located at No.10 Nile Street, Maitama..

Thank God for technology, with the help of google map it wasn’t difficult to locate the place but the fact that most street lights in Abuja aren’t working didn’t help matters (FCT Minister wetin we do you na). Anyways the name is boldly written on a sign post with adequate lightening so its hard to miss it. When we got in we were kind of indecisive on where to sit before a guy came and ushered us to a table for two, seeing his interaction with the other guests I’m guessing he is the manager. He was quite nice to us (lol; I don’t think I have experienced that kind of niceness before). He even offered to take pictures of us, which he did, complete with those dramatic squatting poses to get the best angles (the guy sabi snap correct pictures sha). The restaurant was big with different aesthetically pleasing corners to eat and chill, there were just a few people when we arrived.

The waitress gave us the menu and we placed our order for Caesar’s Big rice, a glass of Chapman and a bottle of water. A few minutes after we placed our order, we were served complimentary appetizers; three soft and succulent breads buns. Our meal took about 20 minutes to arrive and came alongside a small bowl of pepper sauce, in case we wanted the meal extra spicy, Our drinks arrived before the meal, as expected. The ‘Big bowl of rice’ wasn’t as big as I anticipated, still,  in my opinion it’s too big for one person (I mean people that don’t eat too much because I know some people fit finish am one sitting - LOL) However, it wasn’t quite enough for two people if you guys are very hungry.

The rice was well seasoned with bits of shrimps, beef and egg, and two pieces of tasty chicken. The meal was really nice and my friend said the Chapman tasted good too (can’t blame her it was chilled). When the bill arrived we were surprised to see no VAT/Service charge and that’s how we didn’t realize when we asked the Manager “How Come?”.

It was overall a nice place to dine and you should definitely check it out.
